Tyrion's Chain is a chapter pack of 60 new cards (20 different cards in triplicate) for The Iron Throne: The Card Game, based on the best-selling saga Chronicles of Ice and Fire.
These cards were created to expand existing decks and add variety to the metagame of The Iron Throne.

The War of the Five Kings has reached its climax. Stannis Baratheon marches toward King's Landing by land and sea, sending his powerful fleet inside Blackwater Bay to block any escape route. Tywin Lannister advances southward at full speed, leaving the north to House Stark and House Greyjoy, but his mighty army will never arrive in time to prevent the city from being besieged. Come to that, the man who will sit on the Iron Throne at the end of the battle may be determined by none other than the ingenuity of Tyrion Lannister's defenses.
With the chapter pack The Chain of Tyrion, the War of the Five Kings cycle comes to its dramatic conclusion. In this pack you will find plenty of new supports for the Summer and Winter decks, inviting you to draw strength from the warm zephyrs of summer days or the howling blizzards of winter; with the arrival of the final chapters of The Clash of the Kings in the card game you will also meet some famous characters who are entering the game for the first time, including Qhorin the Monk, Salladhor Saan, Podrick Payne, and Ser Arys Oakheart. The time has come to side with your king and participate in one of the greatest battles for the conquest of the throne of swords!
Stannis Baratheon's Dragon's Rock fortress is an island located off the east coast of Westeros. In the early stages of the war, Stannis's powerful fleet protected the island from the incursions of his rivals, but in reality that fleet consisted mainly of mercenaries, loyal first and foremost to the self-styled Prince of the Narrow Sea, Salladhor Saan.
Salladhor Saan (GT14-109) enters the game as a Baratheon card, but like any self-respecting Mercenary, he is not too shy about working for the highest bidder: indeed, you may soon find that he would be very well received by his fellow House Greyjoy rocketmen.
It is easy to see why Salladhor Saan's ability makes this character an optimal choice for House Greyjoy. With all the Ships of War currently available to him, obtaining a location as powerful as the Great Octopus (GT01-78) without having to pay the cost would be a powerful advantage. You could even trigger the Great Octopus after putting it into play, as long as your challenge is unchallenged! And of course, you don't have to limit yourself only to Warships: Salladhor Saan can also make Weapon additions such as a Fishing Net (GT04-52) or a deadly Throwing Axe (GT01-77) pop up in the game. Alternatively, you could stay in your home faction, the Baratheon faction, and suddenly provide one of your characters with King Robert's Warhammer (GT02-8) or the Lightbringer (GT01-58).
Despite his undisputed ability to rally a fleet around him, Salladhor Saan would have little luck commanding that fleet without his personal Warship to deploy in action. Salladhor Saan's flagship, the Valyriana (GT14-108), offers a powerful effect to anyone wishing to oppose the power of House Lannister. With one action you can kneel the Valyriana to increase an attacking character's FOR... and that FOR increase is directly related to the amount of gold coins in the defending player's chest!
Given the importance of events, many players tend to save their gold coins for challenges, regardless of which faction they have chosen to play, but as the game goes on and fewer and fewer characters come into play, it is not uncommon for your opponent to be left with 4 or more gold coins still left to spend at the side of the table...especially if your opponent plays House Lannister. Now Valyrian gives you the ability to leverage those unspent coins, making characters like Balon Greyjoy (GT01-68) virtually unstoppable. As a final touch, you can keep the Valyrian in your hand until the last moment, introducing it into the game by ambushing and using it to rout your opponent's last defenses.
Salladhor Saan's value as a captain is unmatched, and you will need every advantage at your disposal to turn the fortunes of the Battle of Blackwater in your favor. The War of the Five Kings reaches its explosive final chapters!
